Loretta Hudspeth November 2, 1919 - January 18, 2014 Loretta Hudspeth of Plano passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Dean Pratt, Ret. officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 28, at Custer Road United Methodist Church, Plano, Texas. Loretta was born November 2, 1919, in Eustace, Texas, to Aubrey and Annie Smith. She was a lifelong school teacher and taught in the Waco Independent School District along with her husband. They retired from teaching in 1982. In 2000, she moved to Plano to be close to family, where she made many friends playing bridge five days a week as a master player. She was a longtime member of the Austin Avenue United Methodist Church of Waco and Custer Road United Methodist of Plano. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell Douglas Bud Hudspeth; and her infant son, Ronald. She is survived by daughter, Laurann Sutton Pratt and husband, Dean, of McKinney, Texas; son, Doug Hudspeth of Plano; grandchildren, Michelle Sutton Gifford and husband, Gary, James Sutton and wife, Cassie; great grandchildren, Lauren, Nathan and Megan Gifford and Jesse and Collin Sutton; and her brother, Reginald Smith and wife, Sherilyn. Pallbearers are Doug Hudspeth, Rick Ryer, James Sutton, Gary Gifford, Reginald Smith and Nathan Gifford.
