Lorraine Buddy Rowton January 19, 1916 – December 4, 2006 Lorraine J. Schwartinsky Rowton, passed away Monday, December 4, 2006 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday, December 7 at Oakwood Cemetery with Brother Loyd Hall officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Lorraine was born January 19, 1916 in Waco to A.C. & Ella McBrayer Schwartinsky. She married Percy B. Rowton on June 24, 1937 who preceded her in death in 1996. Lorraine was a graduate of Waco High School. During WWII, she worked as a photographer’s assistant, photographing German POWs. She later worked for WISD. She was a long time member of Highland Baptist Church and was active in Waco garden clubs and PTA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Survivors include sons, Jimmy C. Rowton and wife, Dianne of Belton and Billy B. Rowton and wife, Laura of Temple; one sister, Thelma Horne of Eddy; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
