Louis Stein May 21, 1912 - December 27, 2006 Long-time Waco resident Lou Stein passed away in Denver, CO on Wednesday, December 27, 2006. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, December 31, at Agudath Jacob Cemetery with Rabbi Gordon Fuller officiating. The family will receive friends at Agudath Jacob Synagogue immediately following. Lou was born May 21, 1912 in Cleveland, OH to Alex and Sarah Stein. He and Naomi Schaevitz married on January 25, 1942 in Youngstown, OH. Lou was a captain in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He and his family moved to Waco in 1949 as co-owner of the famous “Health Camp” on the Circle in Waco which he operated for 41 years. He was a life member of the Northwest Lions Club and a member of B’nai Brith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Stein of Austin; son, Edward A. Stein and wife, Lisa Hartman of Denver, CO; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Natasha Stein; sister-in-law, Jeannette Schaevitz; several nephews and a niece. Pallbearers are Gabriel Stein Richard Stein, Bernard Stein, Ron Greenbaum, Barney Greenbaum, Robert Schaevitz and Sam Schaevitz. Memorials may be made to Agudath Jacob Synagogue or Hospice of Metro Denver, 425 S. Cherry St., Ste 700, Denver, CO 80246.
