Lou Vinzant

July 8, 1931 — February 3, 2002

VINZANT, LOU Lou Vinzant, age 70, of Waco, died Sunday, February 3, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with nephews David Vinzant and Dr. Bruce Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 4 at the funeral home. Mrs. Vinzant was born in Thornton, Texas on July 8, 1931. She married Lewis Vinzant on September 19, 1953 in Thornton. She was an employee of Youngbloods office staff. She was a life long member of Grace Temple Baptist Church where she taught fourth grade Sunday school classes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Vassar North. Survivors include husband, Lewis Vinzant of Waco; daughters Kay Vinzant of Waco and Jan Martin and husband Donald of Katy; grandchildren Travis Martin and Mallory Martin; sister Nona Vinzant of Tyler; niece Suzy Cox and husband Bruce and their children Anna, Meredith and Natalie; nephew David Vinzant and wife Dayna and their children Bradley, Ryan and Brett. Pallbearers will be Donald Martin, Travis Martin, Charlie Matthews, W. D. Motley, R. L. Maxwell, Tom Clark, and Gary Sadler. Memorials may be made to Grace Temple Baptist Church.
