Louella Mann Jones

Alice Louella Mann Jones December 26, 1920 February 16, 2014 Alice Louella Mann Jones peacefully entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father, surrounded by her family, on February 16, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospice Place. There will be a private family memorial in her hometown of Brady, Texas, at a later date. Louella was born on December 26, 1920. She was the loving daughter of Hazel and James Timothy Mann. She graduated in the Brady schools and received her education degree from Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas. Louella married William Thomas Jones in July, 1948. Together they had three sons. She was a life-long teacher, teaching in Texas school districts of Brady, Dallas, Hondo, Hallsburg, and Chilton. She enjoyed family, music, poetry, arts, reading, sports, gardening and other outdoor activities. She was a member of the Waco Garden Club and Emerson Club. Louella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her two brothers, Major J. Gerald Mann and Paul Mann. She is survived by her sons, Dr. J. Scott Jones and wife, Dana, of Waco; Mark L. Jones and wife, Vicky, of Comfort, Texas; and Noel Paul Jones and wife, Janice, of Waco; grandchildren, Brandon and Summer, David, Christopher and Natalie, Russell and Kate, William, and Laura, and Daniel Thomas Jones; and eight great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. James Copeland, Dr. Phillip Myatt, Dr. Steven Elwell of Providence Hospital, and all the caregivers at St. Catherine's rehabilitation and hospice centers for their excellent and loving care.
