We celebrate the life of Louis Edwin "Ed" Smith of Woodway who passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Graveside services will be led by his dear friend, Jonathan Ford, at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 29, at Robinson Cemetery, located off Stegall Road in Robinson, Texas. Ed was born May 27, 1933, in Oglesby, Texas, to Albert and Evie Smith. He worked at General Tire until Army Armstrong opened his machine shop to him. It became Mid-Way Machine and Ed owned it until his retirement. Ed was a proud and honored Mason. He had a personal and strong relationship with God and he loved openly and unashamedly and will be missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother. He was a loving husband to his wife of 62 years, De Smith; father to De Ann Smith and Layne Smith and wife, Jennifer; a devoted grandfather to Logan and Keili, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Gladys Dupree and Christine Hauser; and sister-in-law, Fredda Gunn and husband, Brooks; and many loving nieces and nephews and cousins.
