Louis S. Sims, Sr. March 11, 1942 - October 31, 2015 Louis S. Sims, Sr. of Waco, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Riley Armstead, Rev. Lonnie Garrett and Prof. Brandon Quarles officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 6, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Louis was born March 11, 1942, in McLennan County, Texas, to Louis and Nevada Sims. He worked at Plantation Foods for 30 years and retired because of illness. He met Shirley at their workplace and they married in 1973. Louis was a devoted member of House of Worship at his home where his wife ministered. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Little Gianna Jones; sisters, Verdell Sims and Ann Sims; brothers, Charles Sims, H. L. Sims, George Emerson Sims and Adell Sims. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Sims, of Waco; daughters, Gianna Gordon and Tara Cooper and husband, Michael; son, Louis Samuel Sims, Jr. and wife, Anna; grandchildren, Latoija Jones and Angelle Douglas; sisters-in-law, Mary Sims, Wilma Murry and Vivian Lowe; niece, Brenda and nephews; and a host of friends. Pallbearers are Louis Sims, Jr., Michael Cooper, Rick Brandon, James Lee, Melvin Dotson Love and Quincy Love.
