Louise McDonald December 31, 1924 - March 4, 2015 Artie Louise Vanderford McDonald, age 90, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Scott Talley officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Louise was born December 31, 1924, in Aquilla, Texas, the daughter of the late John Daniel Vanderford and wife, Jessie Grace Goodman Vanderford. She grew up in Aquilla and attended Aquilla schools. She attended Hill Jr. College and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. Louise graduated with a BS degree and taught school one year at Osceola, Texas, and four years at Aquilla. She enjoyed teaching and loved all her students. Louise married Judge Frank G. McDonald on December 22, 1948, and had 53 wonderful years together. They enjoyed going on trips and doing things together. She was a faithful member of Crestview Church of Christ. She loved her church and church family and had many many friends there. She was a member of the DAR, DRT, UDC, Garden Club and Genealogy Society, Eastern Star, Camp Fire Girls and worked as a room mother. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Frank G. McDonald; and her sister-in-law, Dr. Hemprova McDonald. Survivors include one daughter, Luann Leonese McDonald Thiele and husband, Dalbert Ray Thiele; one granddaughter, Lindsey Leonese Thiele and her boyfriend, Daniel Van Auken; and brother-in-law, Dr. Hendley A. McDonald. She loved her family very much and enjoyed numerous vacations with them. She was so proud of Lindsey and it made her feel special when Lindsey would call her Mee Maw. She was the very best wife, mother and grandmother. Louise wrote, "A special thank you to my extended family and friends who stood by me and helped me. They are Billie Combs, Peggy Haddack, Reggie and Yvonne Holland, Doris Grones, Darlene Jones, Dana Leggett, Joe and Christine Komandosky, Carroll Dodd, Sharon Allman, Opal Matthews, Rebecca Hiatt, Carol Love, Tiffany Love and Janie Contreras. They were all so kind and good to me. Louise's dog, "Mark", was also a great companion and comfort to her. A special thanks also goes to the Waco Fire Department, Station #8, who assisted Louise several times. Pallbearers are Damon Fehler, Truman Bigham, Ronald Huse, Basil Tanner, Ron Mercer, Don Guest, Ken Willis, Nicholas Yezcha, Joe Komandosky, Bill Litton and Daniel Van Auken.
