Lounora Wetzel March 24, 1923 - August 25, 2009 Lounora Wetzel of Waco passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Bro. Fred Sain and Chaplain Jim Millsaps officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 27, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Lounora was born March 24, 1923 in Desdemona, TX to Sidney and Roxie McMains, Sr. She and W.O. Wetzel, Sr. were married on October 24, 1942 in San Antonio. She was a devoted wife and mother, a stay at home ?Mom?, and Dad?s #1 farm hand, the one with the green thumb. Her main goal in her life was caring for her family and helping others. When the kids were older, she worked as a nurses aid in several nursing facilities. Lounora was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years, Willie Otto Wetzel; daughter, Christine Culp; and three siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Turner, and husband, Jim of Waco; sons, W.O. Wetzel, Jr. and wife, Tracie of Oakwood, TX; and Gary Wetzel and wife, Tina of Mart; son-in-law, Dolan Culp; brother, Sidney McMains, Jr. of Waco; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Pallbearers are Weston Wetzel, Brandon Wetzel, Lane Oliver, James Turner, Eddie Pearson, Charles Casper, Robert Culp and Dolan Culp. Memorials may be made to the Prairie Hill Baptist Church, Vista Care Hospice or charity of your choice.
