Lovelace Porter Young

LOVELACE PORTER YOUNG, 89 of Waco, died Sunday, September 2, 2001 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be at 11:30 AM Wednesday, September 5, 2001 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, the Rev. Randy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Young was born August 5, 1912 in Willow Grove, TX to Alver Eston and Viola Harris Porter. She married George P. Young November 24,1945 in Waco. He preceded her in death May 25, 1960. She was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was a former church secretary. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Survivors include her sister Betty Drewyer of Las Vegas, NV, her brother Glenn M. Porter of Waco and numerous nieces and nephews.
