Loyce Corsbie, 85, formerly of Waco, passed away from an infection, peacefully Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Seton Hospital in Austin with her eldest son, Bill Corsbie, by her side. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22 at First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Austin Ave., Waco. Burial services will be shortly afterwards at 2124 South 5th St., Oakwood Cemetery, just off LaSalle Ave. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd., in Waco. Loyce was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a business degree. She worked at the Veterans Hospital in Waco, in their Human Resources Dept., among other places in her career days. She will be remembered by many for her graciousness, intellectual engagement, fairness, and tenacious good humor. Her heartfelt love, joy for life, thoughtful giving of herself, and strength of character and mind will be remembered and cherished in future generations, for she gave of herself to her loved ones in a way that survives her. The best part of her humanity she communicated to her friends and family in a way that lives on. She will be missed and honored for many, many years. She was preceded in death by her husband and local attorney, William Lance Corsbie, also of Alabama. Loyce is survived by her two sons, Bill Corsbie of Austin and James Corsbie of Waco. Also, her grandsons, Chris Corsbie of Austin and Ben Corsbie of Oakland, Calif.
