Lucile Lacy Taylor II February 7, 1948 March 19, 2009 Lucile Lacy Taylor II died peacefully on March 19, 2009, after a short battle with cancer. Burial will be a private family graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, March 21. Lacy was born in Waco, Texas, on February 7, 1948, to Julius Heyward Taylor, Jr. and Lucile Lacy Taylor. She graduated from The Hockaday School in Dallas in 1966, distinguishing herself by having the highest History honor in the Upper School. She then attended Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia, where she made the Dean's List for two years. In 1968 she transferred to the University of Texas in Austin and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1970. She was preceded in death by her father, Julius H. Taylor, Jr., and her brother, Madison Cooper Taylor. Lacy is survived by her mother; two brothers, Goodwyn Rhett Taylor and his children, Julieanne Dorn Taylor and Goodwyn Rhett Wyn Taylor, III; and J. Heyward Taylor, III, his wife, Brooke, and their children, Nathaniel Heyward Nate Taylor, Carlisle Taylor LisleWhitworth and husband, Scott Whitworth, and new baby, Robert Rhett Whitworth. In addition she has eighteen special first cousins in Texas and South Carolina and seven aunts and uncles. Lacy had a particular fondness for her nieces and nephews, and especially loved her loyal Labrador Retriever, Po. Honorary pall bearers are her cousins, Walter G. Lacy III, Thomas L. Lacy, W. David Lacy and Roane M. Lacy of Waco, L. Christian Lacy of Alpine, Texas, and B. Walter Taylor, Edmund C. Taylor, Jr., and Bruce Taylor, all of South Carolina.
