Catherine Lucy Mebane November 5, 1933 - June 15, 2013 Lucy Mebane of Waco went home to Heaven on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, at First Baptist Church Waco with Dr. John Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Lucy was born November 5, 1933 in Waco, Texas to Dr. John and Alice Lattimore. She graduated from Waco High School, Baylor University and Baylor School of Nursing with an R.N. She taught kindergarten at Lake Shore Baptist and at First Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, owned and operated Mastectomy Boutique, and served in the Prayer Room at First Baptist for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. John E. and Alice Lattimore; two brothers, Dr. Joseph Lattimore and John C. Lattimore and one sister, Mary Frances Vanderford. She is survived by her husband, Morris Mebane, of Waco; two daughters, Sally and husband, Mark Dickenson , of Waco and Susan George of Lewisville; one son, John and wife , Michelle Mebane, of Axtell ; fifteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and Lucy's faithful dog Rascal. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Bible Study Fellowhip International.
