Luther G. Porterfield November 6, 1909 - April 21, 2006 Luther G.”Scoot” Porterfield age 96 of Waco passed away Friday, April 21, 2006 at a local nursing home . Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2006 at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Joel Robbins officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m.Sunday, April 23, 2006 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Luther was born November 6, 1909 in Moody, TX to Thomas Carroll Porterfield and Katy Wheat Porterfield. He retired from James Connally Air Force Base in 1969. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years Elizabeth Hastings Porterfield, and his son Billy Ray Porterfield. He is survived by one daughter, Jo Ann Rockett and husbad Don of Lorena, TX., and one son J.D. Porterfield and his wife Anita, of Austin, TX., a daughter-in-law, Patsy Porterfield of Waco, one sister, Robbie Kirk of Bellmead, TX. eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
