Lydia Croft Clark Champ February 16, 1922 - January 19, 2014 Lydia Croft Clark Champ of Waco passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014, at a local health center with loving family by her side. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Temple, Texas. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Lydia was born February 16, 1922, in Temple, Texas, to R.S. and Elizabeth Croft. She married her high school sweetheart, Cecil Clark, and to this union was born a daughter and son. She moved to Waco to continue her career and later retired from United States Post Office in Waco. She had many active years in several local organizations, The Order of Eastern Star and was past Queen of the Nile. Lydia was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Edwin Byrd and Lewis Champ; nine siblings; and son-in-law, Stanley Coufal. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Coufal of Waco; son, Cecil Sid Clark and wife, Martha, of Waco; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family appreciates the care and love of the staff at Royal Manor and Providence Hospice.
