Mabel Viola Suggs

MABEL SUGGS December 19, 1925-December 3, 2005 Mabel Viola Suggs passed away at a local nursing home Saturday, December 3, 2005. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 5 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 4 at the funeral home. Mabel was born December 19, 1925 in Waco to Ivan Harold Storer, Sr. and Viola Mabel Stinnett Storer. She attended school in Corpus Christi. She married Richard Davis Suggs, Jr. on January 14, 1946 in Waco. Mabel was a life-long Baptist. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church in Waco. She also served for many years with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Merritt and husband, Bobby of Lorena; sons, Richard Skip Suggs and wife, Elizabeth of College Station and Michael Suggs and wife, Paula of Gatesville; grandchildren, Brannon Suggs and wife, Shauna, Amy Suggs, Elissa Suggs, Ryan Merritt and wife, Heather, Brent Merritt and wife, Kelly, Ashley Suggs, Shannon Hensiek, Elizabeth Hensiek, Michaela Hensiek, and Devon Homeyer; great-grandchildren, Brice Merritt, Madison Merritt and Averial Suggs; brothers, Ivan Harold Buddy Storer, Jr. and wife, Gerry and Larry Storer and wife, Eileen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Memorial donations may be made to Providence Hospice.
