Manuel Martinez April 1, 1928 - September 9, 2008 Manuel Martinez of Waco passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, at St. Francis on the Brazos with the Rev. Roman Burgos as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Manuel was born April 1, 1928 in Jourdanton, Texas to Frederico and Elena Martinez. He graduated from Waco schools and retired from General Tire and Rubber Co. as a welder. He was an avid fisherman and loved to be with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Trino and Rudy Martinez and sister, Jesse Ramos. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Evangeline Martinez; sons, Fermin Martinez and wife, Sharon and Jacob Martinez; daughters, Pam Murphy and husband, Mike and Carlena Wlazlinski; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his brothers, Henry Martinez, Felix Martinez and wife, Cecilia, Fred Martinez and wife, Belinda; his sisters, Mary Hurtado and husband, Steve, Rosie Carrizales and husband, Frank, Helen Martinez, Gloria McGlasson and husband, Bob, and Linda Garcia and husband, Rudy; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Christopher Martinez, Donald Horton, William Horton, Johnny Vasquez, Jr., Steve Hurtado, Jr., Gilbert Ramos, Eddie Hurtado and John Arthur Ramos.
