Marcie Reed Nevills January 1, 1916 - May 31, 2008 Marcie Reed Nevills of Waco formerly of San Angelo passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Brandon-Bynum Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, June 2, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Marcie was born January 1, 1916, in Clyde, Texas to Joseph and Laura Reed. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1932, attended Sul Ross and Tarleton State University. She taught English and P.E. at Clyde High School until she married the love of her life, Edward O. Dusty Nevills December 26, 1938. They lived in Fort Reno, Oklahoma during WWII where Dusty rose to the rank of LTC. After the war, they moved to Big Lake, Texas, where they lived for 35 years. She taught kindergarten in her home for 17 years, and then they retired to San Angelo. She was an avid bridge player, and becoming a Life Master in duplicate bridge, and often traveling to major tournaments in the US and even Hawaii. She was also involved in local clubs including the Big Lake Garden Club, The Study Club, Texas Federation of Women's Clubs, and various activities at the 1st United Methodist Church of Big Lake for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Anderson Reed and Laura Emma Reed, and her brother Joe Reed. She is survived by her husband, Dusty, her daughter Cara Jay Patterson and husband John; her son Monte Reed Nevills, Lorena; one nephew, Dr. Joe Reed, Abilene and various other nieces and nephews. Grandchildren include Shae Patterson Dickey and husband, Kevin; Dae Patterson Vasek and husband, Brian, all of Hewitt; Laurie Nevills Spence and husband, Stephen of Cypress, Landee Ann Nevills, of Bolivar, Missouri and Lasen DeAnn Nevills of Waco. "GiGi", as affectionly know to her four great-grandchildren, include Dustin Vasek, Cara Layne Vasek, Reagan Dickey and Logan Dickey. The family wishes to thank Meadowlands Terrace Staff, and Bluebonnet Hospice Home Health Care for their tremendous help and care during our time of sorrow.
