Margaret Anne Brothers of Lorena passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017. Services will be Friday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Lorena with the Rev. Heath Kirkwood officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 9 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Anne was born October 8, 1930, to Tom and Margaret Freeman of Moody. Anne graduated from McGregor High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she met Joe Frank Brothers. They were married July 4, 1948. She was a homemaker and raised four children. She was later employed at Temple High School where she worked in the Math Dept. for 15 years. She enjoyed singing with Sweet Adelines and served several terms on the Lorena City Council. She was active in First Baptist Church, Lorena, sang in the choir and also served on the building committee. She loved snow skiing, water skiing and golf and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and her husband enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Colorado and traveling. Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe. She is survived by two sons, Frank of Bastrop, TX and Thomas and wife, Jean of Eddy, TX; two daughters, Karen Bearor of Tallahassee, FL and Debbie Shehorn and husband, David of Riesel, TX; six grandchildren, Rebecca Edwards, Jennifer Rodriguez and husband, Ricky, Alysia Compton and husband, Lance, Scott Brothers and wife, Tori, Jenna Harrison and husband, Stephen; Kristin Shehorn and husband, Danny Morales; nine great-grandchildren, Kelsi Harris and husband, Brandon, Christian, Mikayla, Kinsley, Rylie, Rudy, Jaylynn, Colt and Case; one great-great grandchild, Samantha.
