Margaret Barcus February 10, 1915 – November 16, 2006 Margaret Barcus passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006 in a local hospital. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 18 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Donna Ware officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Margaret was born and raised in Houston, Arkansas, February 10, 1915. She attended public schools in Houston and graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Hot Springs in 1937. Margaret was employed at Henderson Memorial Hospital in Henderson, Texas for 2 years before coming to Waco in 1940. Margaret married John Reavis Barcus of Hewitt, Texas April 4, 1943 who preceded her in death October 7, 1984. She moved to Hewitt in February of 1979 and was a member of Hewitt First United Methodist Church and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. Margaret was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, a member of Robinson FCE Club and Triple L Club of Hewitt. She is survived by a son, Daryl Greene and wife, Candy; grandson, John Greene all of Mesquite, TX and sister-in-law, Edith Barcus of Waco.
