Margaret Compton Knight August 22, 1911 Margaret C. Knight passed away September 17, 2006, at a local nursing home. A graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, September 21, at Brookside Memorial Cemetery in Houston, TX Margaret was born August 22, 1911 in Lytton Springs, TX to James Hart Compton, Sr. and Rosalie Palmer Compton. She graduated from Lockhart High School and attended Southwest Texas in San Marcus, TX. She and her beloved husband Edward Milton Knight were married in 1932 in Lockhart, TX. She was a Sunday school teacher in her church in Houston for 30 years, and later she taught Sunday school to senior adult women in Palacios, TX. She moved to Crestview Nursing Facility in 1996 where she participated in Bible Tournaments and RSVP activities. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Knight and her daughter Susan Beth Knight. She is survived by her daughter Gayle Moak and husband, Tom of Waco; and her son James Knight and wife, Shirley of Georgetown. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Laura James and husband, Kent; Bob Moak and wife, Lisa; Karl Knight and wife, Terry; Kent Knight and wife, Regina. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends and especially by her eight beautiful great grandchildren: Elyzabeth Moak, Austin James, Avery James, Jesse Knight, Katy Knight, Kristen Knight, Amanda Knight and Rachel Knight. The family would especially like to thank Hillcrest Hospice, the staff at Crestview Nursing facility, and her deacon Norman Griswold for their care and attention to our mother. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
