Margaret Phillips Pakis, of Waco, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2003 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be at 3pm Saturday, December 27, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church with Dr. Michael Attas officiating. Margaret was born January 2, 1932 in Oklahoma City, to Otho and Mildred Phillips. She was raised in Hot Springs, Arkansas where she graduated high school in 1950. She attended TCU for two years and graduated from University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 1955. Margaret married Bill Pakis November 5, 1955 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They moved to Waco in November 1957, and she was a life long resident. She was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her joys in life were her family, reading and traveling, painting and the sea shore. She leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will miss her greatly. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, William R. Pakis; daughters, Mary Katherine Tetirick and husband Dean of Fort Worth, Laura O’Brien and husband Michael of Arlington, Alison Naylor and husband Boyd of San Antonio; son, David Pakis and wife Kovianca of Colleyville; grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, and Stephen Tetirick, Mike, Shannon, and Kyle O’Brien, Brooks, Jared, and Reagan Naylor, and Nicholas Pakis; and brother, James L. Phillips and wife Peggy of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
