DEMARET, MARGARET WOOD Margaret Wood DeMaret, age 76, of Waco died Sunday, January 26, 2003 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:30am Wednesday, January 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-7pm Tuesday, January 28 at the funeral home. Mrs. DeMaret was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, the youngest of three sisters. She married Jack DeMaret February 14, 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1987. During their life together they lived in Africa, Indonesia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. She was everyone’s “NeNe”. She cultivated a wide circle of friends and never met a stranger. She was a true Southern gentlewoman. Survivors include daughter, Denise DeMaret Klaras of Waco; son, Terry Jack DeMaret and wife, Anne of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Kent Klaras, Katie Klaras, Liana DeMaret, and Heidi DeMaret; sister, Katie Lee Almand of Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. Pallbearers will be D. J. Haines, Dale Haines, David Gray, Don Lewis, Russ McLeod, and Evan Klaras. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or favorite charity.
