Margie Belle Nay April 2, 1919 - April 11, 2012 Margie Belle Nay of Waco passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at her residence. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, at First United Methodist Church of Waco with the Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, April 15, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Margie Poston Nay was born April 2, 1919, in Henderson, Texas to Homer and Henrietta Poston. She graduated from Lanville High School in 1936 and from the Dallas Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. Mrs. Nay's career included service as a Lt. Nurse in WWII at Brooks General Hospital at Fort Sam Houston. She began her work at San Antonio Methodist Hospital in 1963 and retired as Director of Surgical Services in 1970. Mrs. Nay moved to Waco in 1970 with her husband, Sam, to open Waco Dodge. They joined the First Methodist Church. She became active in the United Methodist Women and the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. She attended MCC for two years in 1971 and 1972. Also, she became active in several civic organization, schools and political associations and was a volunteer social worker. Along with her husband, Sam, they loved to travel. Their interest in history, art and people made it a rewarding experience in many countries of the world. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Dock and Henrietta Gladden Poston; and her daughter, Marcia Nay of Los Angeles, CA. She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Sam Nay Jr.; her son, Sam Nay III and wife, Molly; grandson, Mike McGee and wife, Kay; granddaughter, Holly Nay Dunham and husband, Mike; grandson, Dr. Heath Nay and wife, Heather; great grandchildren, Stephen Sweeney, Brandon and Shelby McGee, Bodi Potter, Harrison, Lauren and Landry Dunham, Hunter and Madysen Nay; sisters, Mae Phillips and Martha Bundrick; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Margie Nay loved everyone! Honorary pallbearers are the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to Community Cancer or First United Methodist Church of Waco.
