Marie Isabel Mathewson Hartberg June 27, 1916 – February 12, 2007 Marie Isabel Mathewson Hartberg of Woodway, Texas passed away at Regent Care Center of Woodway, February 12, 2007. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19 at Seventh and James Baptist Church. She was born June 27, 1916 to James Francis and Minnie Parkes Mathewson in Milford, Illinois and was the granddaughter of Archibald and Margaret Parkes. Marie married the love of her life, Warren E. Hartberg of Milford April 2, 1938. They made a happy life together in Milford, where for 31 years Warren published the Milford Herald-News. There they raised their son, Warren Keith Hartberg among family and friends. In 1978 they moved to Statesboro, Georgia to enjoy their retirement years living across the street from their three grandchildren. In 2002 they joined their family again in Waco, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Warren E. Hartberg; her son W. Keith Hartberg and wife Rebecca of Woodway, TX; her granddaughter, Gretchen and husband, Alfred Mackenzie of Waco, TX; her grandson, Adam Hartberg and wife, Robin of Lorena, TX; and her granddaughter, Joanna and husband, Isaac Meek of San Antonio, TX; her great-grandchildren, Katherine and Andrew Mackenzie, Hunter and Caroline Hartberg, and Emma and Matthew Meek, her twin sister, Margaret David of Kokomo, Indiana, her sister-in-law, Wanita O’Neal of Titusville, Florida, many nieces and nephews, and her dear friends Lew and Alma Selvidge of Statesboro, Georgia. The family is grateful to the caring staff of Regent Care Center for the many kindnesses to Marie during her last 3 years, and to Odyssey Healthcare Hospice as well as Dr. James Copeland and to the caring members of Seventh and James Baptist Church.
