Marie Moss Gilliam

Marie Moss Gilliam September 16, 1923 - March 23, 2008 Marie Moss Gilliam, formerly of Tyler, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 in Waco. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 14, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Marie was born September 16, 1923, in Drumright, OK to Charley and Theresa Moss. She was married to Robert N. Gilliam on June 20, 1946 and they had two sons, Barry and Mark. Robert was on active duty with the U.S. Army for 32 years with various tours in the United States and Europe; and he retired as a Colonel in 1975. Marie loved to travel, was an excellent cook, enjoyed family activities and was a source of support to her husband in his lengthy military career. She was an active member of Marvin United Methodist Church in Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Robert. She is survived by her two sons, Barry and wife, Karin of Waco; and Mark and wife, Ann of Alexandria, VA; three grandchildren, Trina, Christina and Grant; and two great grandchildren, Jack and Kate.
