Marie O. Massey September 10, 1933 - September 16, 2016 Marie O. Massey of McGregor passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, at First Baptist Woodway Parlor with Charlie Dodd officiating. Marie was born September 10, 1933, in Beaumont, Texas, to William Onis Petitt and Selma Estell Pettit. Marie dedicated her life to service and family. She worked at several hospitals and nursing homes throughout her 31-year career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Marie also served alongside her husband, Rev. John T. Massey, as he pastored churches in Central and South Texas. Marie was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway in Waco, Texas. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. John T. Massey, Jr.; and son, David Allen Massey, Sr. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Ellison of McGregor, and Karen Gonzales of Waco; grandchildren, Mari Lynn Massey, Michelle Massey, Martha Massey, David Massey Jr., and Chelsie Massey; and great grandchildren, Blaine Hensley and Tucker Medford.
