September 14, 1953 — October 5, 2001

MARILYN GUYTON of Lorena died Friday October 5, 2001 at Providence Hospital. Services will be 11:30 AM Monday, October 8, 2001 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, the Rev. Danny J. Niedecken. Burial will be at Lorena Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Marilyn was born September 14, 1953 to James E. and Mary Taylor in Waco at Hillcrest Hospital. She married Thomas Lee Guyton December 18, 1972 at Woodway Methodist Church in Woodway. She graduated from Midway High School in 1971. After graduating from school,,that same year she went to work for her father’s family at Midway Automotive. In years to follow, Marilyn and her sister Carolyn Davy took over Midway Automotive and Midway Auto Supply with a partnership, which they still own after 42 years of Midway service. She was a wonderful person and mother. Her home was a gathering place for all of her family and friends. A day never went by that she did not have a home full of friends and family. She was a second mother to all of her children’s friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone. She was an angel. Survivors include her husband Thomas Lee Guyton of Lorena; her parents James and Mary Taylor of Hewitt; two sons: James David Guyton and his wife Tammy Guyton and Thomas Lee Guyton, Jr. and Carrie Emmons, all of Lorena; two grandchildren Ashley Guyton and Amanda Guyton; her sisters: Mary Ann and her husband Norman Wade of Lorena, Carolyn and her husband Joey Davy of Lorena; her niece Missy Davy of Lorena; her nephews: Blaine Boehler of Lorena and Joe Davy and his wife Christine of Waco; her husband’s parents David and Gene Guyton of Woodway; her brothers-in-law Jim Guyton and his wife Lee Ann and David Guyton and his wife Maryann of Waco; her sisters-in-law Carrol Breedland and her husband Norman of Speegleville and Debra Goodson and her husband Ben of Argentina and a host of other nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins and Megan, her beloved pet. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Laron Turner. Pallbearers will be Shannon Boehler, Lewis McClane, Skip White, Chuck Allen, Stan Higginbotham, Nick Woodward, John Middleton, and David Stanford. Honorary pallbearers will be Blaine Boehler and Grant Guyton. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lorena. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
