Marilyn Goolsbee Barnes November 21, 1950 - May 26, 2015 Marilyn Goolsbee Barnes, of Waco, passed , away peacefully Tuesday, the 26th of May, 2015 at her home. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, the 3rd of June in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with the Reverend Doug Blackburn officiating. Friends are invited to a visitation with her family that begins one hour prior to the memorial service. Marilyn was born the 21st of November, 1950, in Waco to William and Yvonne Goolsbee. She married Jimmy Charles Barnes the 22nd of August, 1980. Marilyn worked for 20 years, at her father's business, as the Office Manager at Central Texas Movers and Riggers. She then spent 17 years as the Office Manager at Pledger Construction, and for the past two years and up until her death, Marilyn served as the Office Manager at the Lake Air Tower Condominiums. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, known as "Gramzy" to her grandsons. Throughout her life and in her working career, Marilyn made many lasting friendships and was a dear friend to many. Her hobbies included cooking, working in her garden and spending time with her grandsons. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Marilyn was a member of Cogdell United Methodist Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harold Goolsbee. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Charles Barnes, Jr., of Waco; daughter, Alison Barnes Zelaya and husband, Juan; two grandsons, Samuel and Ethan Zelaya; her brother, Arthur Goolsbee; and many friends.
