Marion Dix Speier May 8, 1907 – February 2, 2007 Marion Dix Speier, 99 of Waco, formerly of Miami, Florida, passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at Ridgecrest Retirement Center. Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 10 at Miami Memorial Park in Miami, Florida. Mrs. Speier was born May 8, 1907 in Lakewood, New Jersey to Charles William and Harriet May Dix. Mrs. Speier married Emil T. Speier in 1923 and resided in Browns Mills, New Jersey until 1949 when she and her husband moved to Miami, Florida. In Miami she led an active life where she was involved in numerous organizations during the 50 years she lived there. She was most proud of her membership in the Miami Women’s Club since 1955, the Daylight Chapter No. 206 Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron in 1957 and the Everglades Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution since 1983. During her life, she also had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the United States ant to more than 30 different countries which she enjoyed very much. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emil T. Speier, daughter, Ruth N. Meyers and granddaughter, Suzanne Pelzman. She is survived by her grandson, Robert L. Meyers and wife, Carol; great grandsons, Michael and Matthew Meyers and Jason Pelzman; nephew, Gregory Dix and wife, Linda; niece, Bonnie Cavanaugh and husband, Tuck; three great nephews and 3 great, great nieces.
