Marjorie Ann Rottner

April 4, 1923 — January 22, 2008

Marjorie Ann Rottner April 4, 1923 - January 22, 2008 A woman of valor, deep character and zest for life, Marjorie Ann Rottner of Waco, Texas made a quiet transition from this life on January 22, 2008 at the age of 84. Marjorie was born in Waco, Texas on April 4, 1923 to Joseph and Freda Novich. In 1944, she met and married Mark Harvey Rottner, M.D. and they had two loving and devoted daughters: Jody Steakley of Waco, Texas and Patricia L. Rottner of Houston, Texas, both of whom survive her. Margie is preceded in death by her loving husband, as well as by her parents. She is also survived by her dear son-in-law, Bill Steakley and precious granddaughter, Baxter L. Steakley. In addition, Margie leaves behind her wonderful sister and beautiful friend, Lucille Unell of Waco and her husband, Bud Unell, both of whom were always there for her, as well as their children and families. She is also mourned by dear family friend, Alice Fields as well as countless others who loved and will miss her terribly. Family was always number one for Margie, and she enjoyed many wonderful and memorable travels with Mark and her girls over the years. Golf was her lifelong passion, and she spent many Sundays on the golf course with her caring brother-in-law, Bud. Her deep love for animals followed close behind. To honor our beloved Mother, a quiet, serene, and very special family only graveside service was held on January 25, 2008. With deepest gratitude, the family requests that anyone desiring to make a contribution in Margie's honor and memory, please do so to: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ASPCA, The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, Fuzzy Friends Animal Rescue, Waco, Mission Waco, or the charity of your choice. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com.
