Marjorie Juren passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Marlin, Texas. Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Marjorie Jo was born January 22, 1925, in Troy, Texas, to Joe and Marguerite Curry, and raised in Marlin. Marjorie Jo attended Sam Houston State University, and graduated from 4C Business College in Waco. She worked for 20 years as the Director of Publications for the Spring Branch ISD in Houston. Marjorie had many talents. She decorated her home with many of her own oil paintings, often landscapes of places she had visited. She loved home decorating and landscape design. She was a very talented seamstress and clothing designer. Friends who admired her clothes were often astonished when they learned she had made the design. Marjorie Jo excelled at bridge. She enjoyed the company of her many friends in her bridge clubs, and was especially fond of her “Bridge Babies”. She was a member of Ridgewood CC, Austin Avenue Methodist Church, Waco Study Club, and the “Cluckers”. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. H.P. Curry; her parents; and her husband, Henry S. Juren. She is survived by two sons, Joe Juren and wife, Tracy Weston, and Gary L. Juren and wife, Donna Juren; three grandchildren, Eli Juren, Jordis Friday, and Colin Juren; four great-grandchildren, Hayden Friday, Ansley Friday, Emma Juren, and Jack Juren. Honorary Pallbearers are Barbara Bonner, Bette Cook, Carolyn Williams, Marilyn Toothman, David Reed, Mike Emmons, Tom Pagel, Ken Pagel, Ann Lloyd, and Curry Wilson. Mimi was especially grateful to her very dear friends, Elena and Genaro Alvarez. She loved them very much. The family thanks Dr. Gary Barbin and staff for their care and compassion.
