Mark Francis Blodgett Jr. June 16, 1939 September 21, 2008 Mark Francis Blodgett, Jr., died Sunday, September 21, 2008, after a short battle with cancer. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, September 28, at Temple Rodef Sholom with Rabbi Mordechal Rotem officiating. Mark was born June 16, 1939, to Mark F. Blodgett, Sr., and Helen Nading Blodgett in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Before retiring, he was a school lunchroom cook. During his military career, he was in the Army and Air Force in the military police and later served as a police officer in Yukon, OK. He was a member of Temple Rodef Sholom, American Legion and the Commemorative Air Force. He worked as an extra in the filming of North and South, Parts 1 and 2, The Alamo, and Friday Night Lights. Mark was active in Civil War history re-enactments and gunslinger shootouts. He is survived by his wife, Carron Thomson-Blodgett; his son, Craig Blodgett; and his daughter, Darla Long. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to the Temple Rodef Sholom, or American Airpower Heritage Museum at the CAF, Midland, Texas.
