HEIDE, MARTHA ELIZABETH KOSKI Martha Elizabeth Koski Heide, 91, of Hewitt, died Friday, January 30, 2004, at the Regent Care Center in Woodway. Martha was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Reverend Dan Roberts of Bosqueville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Martha was born July 8, 1912 in Hancock, Michigan, the daughter of John and Olga Koski. She graduated from the Hancock High School in the class of 1930. Martha married Charles Henry Heide on December 12, 1932 and they celebrated 63 years of marriage. Her nursing career began in the newborn nursery at St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years and continued in private duty until the time she opened and operated Aunt Martha’s Antiques in Lake Linden. In 1975 Charles and Martha retired to Hewitt. Martha was a past Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, life-time member of the Trillium Chapter #304, O.E.S., Laurium, Michigan, and a member of the Bosqueville United Methodist Church. She was devoted to her six children and traveled throughout the states visiting them and their families. Martha loved to sing and entertained residents at the Regent Care Center including her favorites “Jesus Loves Me” and “God Bless America.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, on March 5, 1994, daughter, Claire B. Christensen on June 19, 1995, and parents. Survivors include her children, Mary M. Aittama Albert of Escanaba, Michigan, Carol H. Kendrick of Hewitt, Texas, Charles Heide Jr. Joann of Lake Linden, Michigan, Gerald HeideMary of Naperville, Illinois, and Richard Heide Nancy of Owatonna, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Vista Care Hospice members Liz, Pat, Eric, Pat and Meg for the excellent, loving care of Martha and the staff of the Regent Care Center, especially those on 100 hall for their concerns, compassion and willingness to love her. We also want to thank the staff at Royal Manor. With grateful hearts, we fondly thank the FFA’s Bridget, Janet, Margaret and Carol for their abundant love and devotion to our Martha.
