Martha Jane Clowe September 16, 1933 - December 13, 2011 Martha Jane Wainwright Clowe of Waco passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 17, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Chuck Treadwell officiating. Martha Jane was born September 16, 1933, to Revill Olivia Wainwright and Lester Alva Wainwright in the Nix Hospital in San Antonio. She later moved to Houston with her family and attended Lamar High School. From there, she enrolled in the University of Texas in Austin and became active in the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. On December 4, 1954, she married Carlton Thomas Clowe, Jr. They just celebrated 57 years of marriage. Martha and Tom have two children, Celia Ann Clowe and David Wright Clowe. During their marriage, they lived in many cities in Texas before finding a real home of 21 years in Waco. Martha was a docent of the Bayou Bend Association in Houston, and of the McNay Art Institute in San Antonio. Over the years, she has been an ardent supporter of Planned Parenthood, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Baylor's museums and the Art Center in Waco. Martha was a loving wife, homemaker, grandmother and a true giver. She made many friends in Waco in a short time and found the home she had been looking for for 36 years. She is survived by David, Celia, Augustin Hennings, and her devoted husband, Tom. Memorials in her memory are suggested for Planned Parenthood.
