Martin Paulsen February 11, 1918 May 5, 2009 Martin Fred Paulsen, 91, a lifelong resident of Waco, passed away Tuesday, May 05, 2009, in Granbury, Texas. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Waco with the Rev. Jim Price Officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Martin was born February 11, 1918, to Fred and Frieda Paulsen in Waco. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Waco. He married Norma Lydia Bielefeldt in Malone, Texas on March 17, 1946, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage before Norma's death in April, 2006. Martin graduated from Waco High School in 1935. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific during WWII, and then returned to Waco where he was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital until his retirement. He then became the representative for Germania Insurance in the Waco area, during which time he made many new contacts and friends. He was very skilled at wood work, and was very accomplished at home repair work. He was very devoted to his family, being a loving and faithful husband, caring and supportive father, and a proud and doting grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma; and his sister, Anna Arthur. Martin is survived by two sons, Paul Paulsen and wife, Charlcye, of Austin; and Larry Paulsen and wife, Barbara, of Granbury; two granddaughters, Lori Griffin and husband, Tim, of Austin; and Leigh Haley and husband, Brandon, of Euless; two grandsons, Chris Paulsen and wife, Lauren, of Plano, and Ben Paulsen of The Woodlands; three great-grandsons, Camron and Brayden Haley of Euless, and Charlie Griffin of Austin; and one great-granddaughter, Emery Paulsen of Plano.
