Marvin Odell Wilson, 94, retired tire sales-manager for Montgomery Ward, Waco, died December 8, 2005 in Arlington, Texas. Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 14 at Coolidge Cemetery Chapel in Coolidge with Rev. Jorene Swift officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 5:00 PM Tuesday, December 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Marvin was born January 1, 1911 to Marshall and Essie Shanks Wilson in Coolidge, Texas. He retired in 1976 from Montgomery Ward after a 35 year career. In addition to serving for many years as head usher and as deacon at Western Heights Baptist Church, he also served on the Parks and Recreation Board for the City of Waco and the board of the Senior Adult Council of Churches for the City of Waco. He took an active leadership role as Vice President of the Fellowship Club of Western Heights Baptist Church. After retiring, he began playing golf and enjoyed weekly games with his friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Gladys Talley Wilson; his wife of 18 months, Flora Lee Crook Wilson; his wife of 17 years, Lucile Morgan Thomas Wilson; his brothers, Bob Wilson and Jack Wilson and his sister, Eulalia Wilson Eddy. Marvin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Mary Wilson, of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Jim W. Wilson and wife Marianna of Cleburne and Beth Wilson Adcock and her husband, Beto Martinez of Frisco and five great grandchildren.
