CLINKSCALES, MARY ALINE Mary Aline Clinkscales, age 86, of Waco, died Thursday, December 23, 2004 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday, December 27, 2004 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey funeral home chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. David Shuttlesworth officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North.Visitation with the family will be from 4-6pm Sunday, December 26 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mary Clinkscales was born June 20, 1918, in Bryan, TX. Her parents were James W. Herrin and Mandana Pearlee Slowey of Houston. She was the youngest of four children. She married Ernest R. Clinkscales January 22, 1937. Mrs. Clinkscales and children Carol Ann and Ernest Jr.traveled to Japan three times, to be with Mr. Clinkscales during his military service. They ministered to the Japanese people and established the first Baptist church there after the war. Mary retired from J. S. Barnett Printing Co. in the mid 80’s. She was a devoted wife and was affectionately known as “Grandma” by many people. With her warm smile and cheery personality she had a way of up-lifting people. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Post 121 of the American Legion. Her husband, parents, infant son, a sister and two brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Touchstone and husband, Tommy of Waco, son Ernest R. Clinkscales, Jr. and wife Sharon of Houston. Grandchildren Troy Jones and wife Lori of Lorena, Clay Jones and wife Charlotte of Houston, Anson Jones and wife Cathleen of Belton, Christopher Clinkscales of Houston, Cherie Sivess and husband Chuck of Waco. Great grandchildren Aaron, Kyle, Megan, Lindsey, Jennifer, Deianna, Blair, Wade, Austin, Dillon and Mathew. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest R. Clinkscales and Tommy Touchstone.
