SIKES, MARY ANN Mary Ann Sikes, age 82 died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 in Lubbock. Services will be held at 1:30pm Friday, May 30 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Sikes was born August 4, 1920 in McLennan County to the late John L. and Floy Alford. She married Albert E. Wolfe on August 2, 1941 in Waco, he died in June 1969. She married J.T. Sikes on October 21, 1971 in Waco, he died in November 1985. She graduated from Waco High School and Baylor University with a Masters degree in education. She taught in the elementary schools at China Spring and Waco. She had been living in Lubbock at an assisted living facility since an automobile accident in November, 1997. She had been active in the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the First Methodist Church prior to her accident. A brother, Bill Alford preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Bill Wolfe of Lubbock; stepdaughter, Sue Sikes of Austin; stepsons, Tommy Sikes of Waco and Larry Sikes; brother, Jack Alford of Red Oak, sister, Betty Brown of Greensboro, North Carolina, two grandchildren and six step grandchildren.
