Mary Beth Smith October 9, 1925 - March 24, 2007 Mary Beth Smith of Waco passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Beth was born October 9, 1925 in Sipe Springs, TX to George and Mary Williams. She worked at Gulf Oil Corp. as a book keeper and did secretarial work for Dun and Bradstreet. She married Billy Joe Smith on June 16, 1949 in Temple, TX. Beth has been a lifelong member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church. She was very talented and enjoyed painting, cooking and needlepoint. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Smith; one son, Charles A. Dickens; three grandchildren, Charles W. Dickens, Michael Dickens and Christine Greeland; six great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Bumpus; cousins, Lynn Klatt, Charlene Young, Mary Virginia Pitman and Jane Ross.
