Mary Louise Briery

Mary Louise Briery, 78 of Waco, passed peacefully with her dear friend, Lana, at her side. Mary will lie in state at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. in Waco, Monday, March 3, 2025, and Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mary will be buried at Santa Anna Cemetery in Santa Anna, Texas, next to her mother. 

Mary was born October 29, 1946, in Temple, Texas to the late Floyd Currie Blair and Maida Hudson Blair. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1965 and received her Texas Teacher Certificate in 1975. Mary taught Spanish while she was a teacher and was passionate about her students. Mary was known for her warm smile and kind spirit and will be deeply missed. Mary was a member of Lakeshore Church of Christ. She deeply loved her close group of lady friends, and her Sunday school class that she came to know and cherish. She was lovingly called “Sweet Mary” by several of the ladies. They would go to celebrate birthdays and visit her every chance they could. Mary also had a love of music and played piano. 

Mary was preceded in death by, her husband, Tim Briery and her parents, Floyd and Maida Blair. 

She is survived by her sister, Betty Bracht along with her cherished church friends and several extended family members.
