Mary Cage Williamson Hagar August 20, 1924 - October 24, 2013 Mary Cage Williamson Hagar of Waco passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 28, at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 27, in the Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Garden Room. Mary was born to Rev. M.E. and Myrtle Lee Williamson on August 20, 1924, in Fort Worth, Texas. Her childhood years were spent in Eunice, Louisiana. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas, where she met her husband, Bailey Hagar. He preceded her in death after 58 years of marriage. Over the years, Mary served as a home economics teacher, a high school counselor, Women's Missionary Union member and director, a Bible study teacher and longtime member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, a conference facilitator, Mission Service Corps volunteer, and many other roles. She was known by many as the "greatest prayer warrior with wisdom beyond measure." Her love of the Lord, her family, her friends, her church, co-workers, country, neighbors and missions outreach was deep and lasting. Mary is survived by three children, Richard Hagar and wife, Debbie, of Allen, Texas, Ron Hagar and wife, Cheryl, of Waco, and Karen and husband, Tarry LaPoint, of Waco; seven grandchildren, Seth Hagar, Mark Hagar and Joy Hagar, David Hagar and wife, Pam, Abram Hagar, Ben Hagar, and Michelle LaPoint; two great grandchildren, Laykin Kelley and Jave Hagar; two brothers, Charles Lee Williamson and wife, Patsy, and Bill Williamson and wife, Sarah; and many other beloved family members in and beyond Texas. Beyond her lifetime of service to her family, friends, local and foreign missionaries, and church, she was the consummate cook, gardener, lover of music and traveler of the globe. Her loving heart, gracious spirit, apt words for every situation, sweet humor, and her abiding diligent prayers were continual evidence of her devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The legacy she leaves with the imprint of joy, mercy, and grace has blessed us, her family and friends, beyond our ability to express. Though we will miss her deeply, we are grateful for the privilege of experiencing life with our precious Mom, GranMary, Meme. One of the verses from God's Word which describes her more fully is from Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we could ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ throughout all generations, forever and ever.
