Mary Carolyn Dungan Woods, 86, of Burleson, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Carol was born on May 23, 1935, in McKinney, Texas to Lena Pearl Nichols Dungan and William Taylor Dungan. She married Jimmy Hoyle Woods on Sept. 1, 1953. Jimmy went to the Lord in 1999. She married James Wallace ‘Buddy’ Hunt in 2006. Carol was a graduate of McKinney Boyd High School. She continued her education at the University of North Texas where she received a teaching degree in Home Economics. She joined Alpha Delta Kappa (ADK) International Honorary Society for Women’s Educators while at North Texas and continued to be an active member. After college, she taught Home Economics for Waco ISD and Midway ISD for over 30 years. Carol had a strong faith in God and was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, gardening, cooking, entertaining and making special family memories. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Judy and JoAnn; brother, William (Bill); brother-in-law, Jack Woods; and sister-in-law, Peggy Woods. Carol is survived by her children, Lori Elizabeth and husband, Richard Owen Lind, of Lago Vista, Texas; Jimmy Paul Woods and wife, Lori Madeline, of Joshua, Texas; brother, Don Michael ‘Mickey’ Dungan and wife, Dianna; grandchildren, Kian Barclay Lind and wife, Terra Ann Hicks, Seren Ember Elizabeth Lind, Jacob Scott Woods, Tanner Ray Woods, Ashton Tyler Woods, and Riley Parker Woods; great-grandson, Jack Owen Lind; sister-in-law, Martha Woods and sister-in-law, JeanAnn Dungan; brother-in-law, Robert ‘Bob’ Woods; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers are Jacob Woods, Tanner Woods, Ashton Woods, Riley Woods, Kian Lind, and Seren Lind. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship Fund.
