Mary Frances Lynn

LYNN, MARY FRANCES MRS. H. D. Mary Frances Lynn, 94, passed away Friday, September 24, 2004, at a local hospital. Services will be at 11:30 A. M. Monday, September 27, 2004 at Cottonwood Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Brashear, Rev. Jeff Lynn and Dr. Buddy Sipe officiating. Burial will be at Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 2 to 5 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Lynn was born July 20, 1910 to Rev. Andrew H. and Willie Duff Ethridge in Greenville, Texas .She attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. She married Howell D. Lynn on December 16, 1930. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1989. She was a member of Cottonwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 60 years. She was a Women’s Missionary Leader and Girls Auxiliary Leader. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing golf and “42.” She was a very caring person to all and was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors are daughters, Kitty Dawson and husband George of Lorena and Betty May and husband Jack of Rolla, MO; son, Stanley Lynn and wife Irma of San Angelo; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Harvey Jo Askew of Ardmore, OK. She was preceded in death by a brother, Milburn Levi Ethridge, and a sister, Chrystabelle Vaughan. The family wishes to express thanks and appreciation to the staff of Royal Manor Healthcare Center for the care of their mother during the last 18 months. Pallbearers are Travis Barton, Korey Boyer, Gary DeWint, Dennis Easley, Jack May Sr., Jack May, Brandon May and Ryan May. Honorary pallbearers will be George Dawson, Watson Davis, Jeff Drott, Jeff Lynn, Phillip Miller, Gary Oakes, and her great grandsons. Memorials may be made to Cottonwood Baptist Church Building Fund.
