Mary Gonzales April 9, 1934 – March 13, 2006 Mary Gonzales was called to be with the Lord, Monday, March 13, 2006. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 am Thursday, March 16 at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church with Father Lawrence Soler as celebrant. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, March 15 at 7:00 pm and visitation will begin at 6:00 pm at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque. Mrs. Gonzales was born April 9, 1934 in Elm Mott, Texas, the daughter of the late Francisco and Guadalupe Sustaita. She married Henry Gonzales, Jr. on January 8, 1949. Mary was a devoted housewife who volunteered at Caritas, Central Texas Hospice, St. Francis Social Ministry and was a member of the St. Francis 8:00 Choir. She was a Cursillista and a member of the Guadalupanas and Terciarias Societies at St. Francis. She enjoyed preparing special dishes with her husband for family and friends and special occasions. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Lupe Franco and Alvina Macias. She is survived by Henry, her loving husband of 57 years; sons, Henry Gonzales, III and wife, Minnie, Albert Gonzales and wife, Janie, Mark Gonzales and wife, Carolina from Waco and Martin Gonzales and wife, Diana from Arlington; daughters, Helen Morales and Carol Salcedo; brothers, Frank Sustaita and Manuel Sustaita; sisters, Sarah Robledo from Dallas, Rebecca Chavarria from Waco and Linda Torres from Puerto Rico; 18 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren, numerous loving nieces, nephews, Godchildren and extended family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
