Mary Jo Barrett February 28, 1918 - June 9, 2008 Mary Jo Barrett of Waco passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2008. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Barrett and Rev. William Ray Parmer officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mary Jo was born February 28, 1918, in Waco to Eustace Arnold and Mabel Combs Johnson. She graduated from Waco High School and attended Madison College and Baylor University. She was a longtime member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church. Mary Jo married Angus Moody Barrett, Sr., on April 4, 1944. She worked at Bluebonnet Ordnance Plant during WWII. She volunteered at Hillcrest Hospital, and was active in garden clubs, bridge clubs and the lives of her children. Mary Jo was the great great- granddaughter of Confederate Brigadier General Joseph Burton Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters and one brother. She is survived by a son, Moody Barrett and wife, Joan, of Temple; a daughter, Rebecca Anne Fajkowski, of Boulder, Colo.; son-in-law, Robert; grandchildren, Alex Fajkowski, Sara Fajkowski, Anna Fajkowski, Katy Barrett Smith and husband, Jarrod; Joseph M. Barrett and wife, Natalie; great granddaughter, Emma Grace Smith; and sister, Jeanne Voth and husband, Charles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
