Mary LaNelle Morris Howerton December 4, 1924 November 12, 2009 Mary LaNelle Morris Howerton, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 in Mineral Wells, TX. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Wilkirson- Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 6:30 p.m. Sunday, November 15 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. LaNelle was born Dec. 4, 1924 in Willow Grove, TX to William Clemmie and Audrey Morris. She graduated from Moody High School in 1941. She married Earl M. Howerton on Nov. 11, 1945, and made her home in Waco until a recent illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodway, TX. LaNelle's life was lovingly devoted to God and to her family. LaNelle was preceded in death by her husband, Earl M. Howerton, infant grandson, Bradley Howerton; and sisters, Willie Coulter and Clarine Lynch. Surviving are her two sons, Steve Howerton and wife, Janie; and son Lance Howerton and his wife Leann; grandchildren, Matthew Howerton; Stephanie Novak and husband, Leonard; Lauren Mitchell and husband, Monty; and Lisa Becton and husband, Eric; great grandchildren, Annie Jane Adams, Joshua Novak and Zachary Novak. LaNelle is also survived by her sisters, Catherine Poe, Oveta Bolt, Virginia Gero and Annette Jones. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Woodway, 101 Ritchie Road, Woodway, TX 76712.
