Mary Louise Steitz

STEITZ, MARY LOUISE Mary Louise Steitz, age 103, of Waco died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at a local nursing home. Graveside services were held at 11:00AM Tuesday, January 22 at Evergreen Cemetery in Los Angeles, California with Dr. Gary Dickey officiating. Mrs. Steitz was born in Columbus, Ohio. She moved to Orange County, California at the age of two years. Her maternal grandparents were part of the Indiana Colony that founded the city of Pasadena, California. She married Harold J. Steitz on March 4, 1920 and was married 71 years. Mrs. Steitz lived in Altadena, California for 51 years, until her husband’s death in August of 1991. She moved to Waco to be near her family. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ginnie and Ed Starr of Waco, grandsons, Michael J. Starr of Waco and Mark E. Starr of Dallas, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
