Mary Margriet Durham

Margriet M. Durham passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 103. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with her son, Ron Durham officiating. A family burial will follow. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

Margriet was born February 7, 1919, in Rosebud, to Roy and Mary Ann Frields. Margriet attended Waco public schools. She retired from Safeway, Inc., and was a longtime member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Mary Ann Frields; husband, J.V. Durham; son, Richard Durham; sisters, Anna Laura Frields, Velmeda Coe, Thella Pettigrew, and Alma Warren; and brother, Andrew Frields.

She is survived by three sons, Don Durham and wife, Joyce, of Corinth, Texas, Ron Durham and wife, V. Beth, of Waco, and Doug Durham and wife, Meela, of Keller, Texas; a sister, Leona Howard, of Waco; a brother, J. R. Frields and wife, Shirley, of Waco; a daughter-in-law, Kitty Durham, of Houston; seven grandchildren, Raymond Durham and wife, Johnna, Donna Cavanaugh, Debbie Wall and husband, Kevin, John Durham and wife, Jennifer, Rhonda Bunce, Nickolas Durham, and Jeremy Durham and wife, Kaitlyn; sixteen great-grandchildren, Dylan Durham, Macy Durham, Colton Larson, Delaney Stuckeman, Samantha Daggett, Ross Cavanaugh, Kerri Cavanaugh, Preston Wall, Madison Wall, Hannah Backhus, Caleb Durham, Brandon Bunce, Reagan Colavita, Evelyn Bunce, Isaac Durham, and Amelia Durham; five great-great-grandchildren, Carter Daggett, Knox Daggett, Jameson Daggett, Palmer Backhus, and Collins Backhus; and numerous nephews and nieces and their families.
