Mary Opal Knudson

Mary Opal Knudson passed away Friday, October 29, 2021. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2021, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor David Ives officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery. Opal was born September 19, 1923, in Prescott, Arkansas to Andrew and Lois Cummings. She was raised and attended school there until she moved to Dallas, Texas. There she met her sailor sweetheart, Wilford Knudson. They spent the rest of their married life in Waco where they raised their three children, Linda Knudson Christian, Ronald Knudson, and Timothy Knudson. Opal worked for Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home and later worked as church secretary at her beloved Herring Avenue Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Christian; sons, Ronald Knudson and Timothy Knudson; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
